Pacific Asia Tourism
Steve Noakes is Managing Director of Pacific Asia Tourism Pty. Ltd., Managing Partner of Solimar Pacific Asia and a Founding Partner in the Oceania Sustainable Tourism Alliance. He has been a leading advocate for sustainable tourism practices through the Pacific Asia region and has undertaken consulting projects funded by the private sector and multi-lateral & bi-lateral agencies including the World Bank, International Finance Corporation, UN World Tourism Organisation, Asian Development Bank, APEC, NZ AID and Governments at the National, State/Provincial and local area. Steve is an Adjunct Professor (Sustainable Tourism) at Griffith University, Australia and has an extensive background in commercial project collaboration with leading academics & researchers in sustainable tourism throughout Pacific Asia.
Professor Terry de Lacy, PhD, is a highly respected international expert on sustainable development in tourism and climate change impacts on the tourism sector. Terry  has extensive research, policy, project and educational experience in Asia and the Pacific, in particular in China. He has undertaken projects in association with numerous international agencies, including IUCN, EU, WTTC, APEC and AusAID. He has recently taken up a Chair in Sustainable Tourism and Environmental Policy at Victoria University, Australia and was previously Dean of the Agricultural and Natural Resources Faculty at the University of Queensland.
Professor Leo Jago, PhD, is Director of Victoria University’s Centre for Tourism and Services Research. Leo has undertaken research and consulting projects in Asia, Africa and the South Pacific. He has 18 years operational experience as an owner operator of small tourism enterprises in urban and regional areas. Leo has degrees in both engineering and economics. He has an eclectic range of research and consulting skills focusing in the areas of event management and evaluation, small enterprise management, tourism planning and tourism marketing.
